Rhine-Main Link, power transmission line from Lower Saxony to Hesse

Project description:

The Rhine-Main Link is one of the key grid expansion projects of the energy transition. This high-capacity energy corridor is expected to deliver up to eight gigawatts (GW) of renewable wind power directly to Hesse starting in 2033, thereby strengthening the Rhine-Main economic region. GINGER HPC is supporting the project with geotechnical engineering, hydrogeology, and soil science.

Services:

Leadership in the Lower Saxony section for the subproject on site investigation
Efficient coordination of the various sub-areas, deadlines, and the quality of deliverables
Drilling in accordance with DCA guidelines
In the Geotechnical Engineering division of the Lower Saxony 1 (NI1) section: Overseeing drilling operations in the field as well as work in the core storage facility and preparing expert reports
In the field of soil science, preserving evidence during drilling operations
Soil mapping of the route using Pürckhauer probing and pile-core probing
Investigation of the hydrogeological properties of the subsurface
Provision of data for the creation of a 3D subsurface model of the power line route
Hydraulic tests in open boreholes and groundwater monitoring wells, including pumping, infiltration, seepage, and packer tests
